Popular dancer Salman Yusuff Khan recently took to his social media handles to share the ordeal he faced at the hands of a Bengaluru immigration officer. He posted a video of him revealing he was harassed at the Bengaluru airport by the officers for not knowing the Kannada language. Salman explained that he told the immigration officer that since he hasn’t spent a lot of time in the city and was raised in Saudi Arabia, he didn't know the language but he kept on harassing him. The incident took place on Wednesday morning when the dancer was boarding a flight to Dubai.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Yusuff shared a video of him from the airport alongside a lengthy note, giving the details about the incident. Alongside the clip, he wrote, “on my way to dubai and I meet this immigration officer who speaks to me in Kannada .. and I in my broken Kannada try to tell him that I understand the language but can’t speak so well to which he continues to speak in Kannada and shows me my passport and points out my name and my birth place and my fathers name and his birthplace and has the audacity to tell me that .. you and your father are born in bangalore and u can’t speak Kannada .. to which I replied .. that being born in bangalore doesn’t mean I’m born with the language.” ALSO READ: Dance Plus 6: Salman Yusuff Khan Replaces Dharmesh Yelande; Shakti Mohan Treats Fans With On-Set Photos Featuring Salman And Punit Pathak


He added, “I could be born in Bangalore and travelled the world like I have been always a Saudi child bought up in Saudi .. (ps: I have never had Kannada as a language as I never lived in the country during my schooling .. what ever little that I know is through my friends ) to which he goes to the extent of saying that .. if u can’t speak Kannada I can suspect you …I told him that I know my nations official language Hindi and my mother tongue is Hindi why should I know Kannada. I asked him again suspect me for what ..?and he says . I can just suspect you for anything.” 

His post further read, “to which he kept quiet. I told him that if uneducated people like you continue to live in this country this country will never grow. To which he just kept his head down and murmuring. well this is wht I get to represent my city and win national accolades.. that I have to prove my self to these uneducated Brutes ..”

For the unversed, Salman Yusuff rose to fame after he emerged as the winner of Dance India Dance 1. He also participated, in reality, shows Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9. Later, in 2013, he made his acting debut with the 3D dance-based film ABCD: Anybody Can Dance, directed by Remo D'Souza and starred Prabhu Deva, Dharmesh Yelande, Lauren Gottlieb, and Punit Pathak. He was also seen in the dance film Street Dancer 3D with Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, Raghav Juyal, and Nora Fatehi.

Salman was last featured on Star Plus’s reality show ‘Dance Plus 6’ which was concluded last year.
